Save Peoplesafe Numbers

Scan the QR code with your phone's camera to save the Peoplesafe contact numbers.

This means you'll know that it's Peoplesafe calling and that you need to answer it.

Getting Started with Your Device

Watch this video to learn how to switch on your device, understand what its lights mean, keep your GPS location updated, raise an SOS alarm, and how the Peoplesafe team supports you during an incident.

Charging & Powering On

The 621 MySOS has a battery life of up to 8 days; the 640 model lasts up to 5 days. Your model number appears on the back of the unit.

Your device charges either via a magnetic charging strip or a plug‑in cable, and takes around 4 hours to fully charge.

While charging you'll see a red light — it turns off when fully charged.

To turn the device on or off, press and hold the power button for 4 seconds, then wait for the light sequence to finish.

The device will beep at 30% battery to remind you to charge it.

When should you charge your MySOS device?

How to Raise an SOS Alarm

  1. Press and hold the SOS button for 4 seconds — you'll feel a vibration to confirm your alert has been sent.
  2. You'll feel a second vibration when the Alarm Centre has received your alarm.
  3. An alarm controller will listen in silently for around 10 seconds to understand what's happening.
  4. If you can speak freely at that point, please do — it helps them support you more quickly.
  5. All alarms are treated as genuine. Accidental activations are not a problem — but please do not test the SOS button as this can delay help for real emergencies.

Alarm Receiving Centre

Why is Peoplesafe faster than 999?

When you raise an alarm, the Peoplesafe Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) instantly receives your GPS location, live audio, and your personal risk profile.

Trained operators quickly confirm whether the incident is genuine, effectively "pre-triaging" the call. In an emergency, they can bypass 999 and contact the nearest police force directly.

The ARC provides key details the police need — your location, what's happening, and any relevant personal risks — helping them respond faster and more accurately.

We May Call You During an Alarm

We may need to contact you during an alarm — whether to speak discreetly, check your welfare, or confirm your location.

You'll receive a call from the Peoplesafe ARC using the number shown in your contacts (saved via the QR code at the start).

It's important that you answer the call and provide any information the Alarm Controller asks for — this may include your name, date of birth, employee reference number, or details about your situation.

Question 6 of 8

What do you do if the Peoplesafe ARC calls you?

Optional Section

Have you been told your device has fall detection enabled?

If you're not sure, complete the training anyway so you know how to cancel accidental alarms.

How Fall Detection Works

Fall Detection works automatically. To help reduce false activations, please wear your device using a Peoplesafe Holster. If the device activates by accident, you can simply cancel the alarm.

  2. Press the power button for 1 second to log a manual position.
  3. Check your text message to confirm your location is correct.

We recommend testing your device when you first get it, every 3 months, or when you think there may be a signal issue or fault.

If your test is not successful, chat to our team here.

Check Your Safety Features

Press and hold Call Button 1 for 4 seconds and listen to the message played back to identify your safety feature.

Voice Memo, Timed Activity and Check In Out features

How to Check In & Out

This feature lets your manager or Health & Safety team know you have started or finished work safely. Some devices have a check‑in timer — if not checked out in time, 2 automated calls will prompt you before an alarm is raised.

How to Create a Timed Activity

Use this for higher‑risk tasks. Leave details of the risks you face and your location. If you do not cancel a timed activity, you will receive 2 automated calls 5 minutes apart before an alarm is raised.

How to Leave a Voice Memo

Leave short voice notes for the Alarm Centre about any risks or locations from the past 24 hours. If you're sharing a device, leave your name and number so we know who you are. The ARC can review these only if an alarm is raised.
