Watch this video to learn how to switch on your device, understand its lights, keep GPS updated, raise an SOS alarm, and how the Peoplesafe team supports you during an incident.

Device Basics

Charging & Powering On

The MySOS 4G ID Badge has a battery life of up to 10 days.


Charges via a magnetic charging strip or plug‑in cable. Takes around 4 hours to fully charge.


A red light shows while charging — turns off when fully charged. Device beeps at 30% battery.


To turn on or off: press and hold the power button for 4 seconds, then wait for the light sequence to finish.

SOS Alarm

Raising an SOS Alarm

  1. Press and hold the SOS button for 4 seconds — you'll feel a vibration.
  2. A second vibration confirms the Alarm Centre has received it.
  3. An alarm controller will listen in silently for around 10 seconds.
  4. If you can speak freely, do so — it helps them support you faster.
  5. All alarms are treated as genuine. Please do not test the SOS button.

Why Peoplesafe

Why is Peoplesafe faster than 999?

When you raise an alarm, the ARC instantly receives your GPS location, live audio, and personal risk profile. Trained operators verify the incident and can bypass 999 to contact police directly with full context.

If the lanyard is pulled, the ripcord pin is removed and the alarm process begins.


To cancel an accidental ripcord alarm:

  1. The lanyard is pulled and the ripcord pin is removed.
  2. A beep begins to sound.
  3. Reinsert the ripcord pin into the top left-hand side of the device.
  4. The beeping stops — no alarm is raised.

⚠️ Only reinsert the pin if it was accidental. Do not reinsert it if you need emergency support.

When should you raise an alarm?

How Fall Detection Works

Detects a fall by sensing freefall, tilt, and non-movement. Wear your device in a Peoplesafe Holster to reduce false activations.


If triggered by accident: press the power button 3 times whilst the device is beeping to cancel.

  3. Check your text message to confirm your location.

Test when you first receive the device, every 3 months, or if you suspect a signal issue.

Some devices have a check-in timer — if not checked out in time, 2 calls will prompt you before an alarm is raised.

Use for higher-risk tasks. Leave details of risks and your location within a building.

If not cancelled, you'll receive 2 automated calls 5 minutes apart before an alarm is raised.

Leave short voice notes for the Alarm Centre about risks or locations from the past 24 hours. The ARC can review these only if an alarm is raised.
