What Are Incident Notifications?
Incident Notifications are a powerful feature that keeps your team informed and responsive. They provide real-time email alerts to designated individuals—such as administrators, managers, or specific departments—whenever an employee experiences a real or precautionary incident handled by the Peoplesafe Alarm Receiving Centre
When an incident is closed, a Closed Alarm Report is automatically generated in Nexus. This report includes event details, user profile information, location data, and notes recorded by the Alarm Controller.
An email is then sent to the selected recipients with a link to access the report in Nexus.
Why Use Incident Notifications?
By enabling this feature, your organisation can:
- 🚨 Respond Faster: Get immediate visibility into incidents as they happen.
- 🤝 Support Employees: Ensure affected individuals receive timely care and follow-up.
- 🔍 Improve Safety Oversight: Initiate investigations and implement corrective actions quickly.
- 📊 Enhance Reporting: Maintain a clear record of incidents for compliance and review.
This proactive approach helps create a safer, more responsive work environment.
How to control Incident Notification delivery
- Go to Settings
Navigate to the Company Profile section, then select Settings. - Enable or Disable Notifications
Turn on or off the Incident Notifications feature. - Customise Your Alerts
- Choose whether to receive alerts for real incidents only or for both real and precautionary incidents.
- Select who should receive the notifications—this can include all administrators, team managers, or individual email addresses.
Real vs Precautionary Incidents
We recommend you enable both real and precautionary incidents to keep you most up to date.
Real Incident
An emergency where emergency services are contacted, either by the user or the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).
Example: medical emergency, personal threat, serious accident.- ⚠️Precautionary Incident
A situation where the ARC monitors or supports the user without needing to call emergency services.
Example: feeling unsafe, missed check-in, false alarm.
Selecting Incident Notification Recipients
- Administrators
Notifies all users with the Administrator role in Nexus of any incident across the account. - Managers
Notifies Managers assigned to the team where the incident occurred.
Note: Managers must have an email address in their profile to receive alerts. They also need portal access to view the Closed Alarm Report. - Other Recipients
You can add specific email addresses to receive notifications, even if they are not Nexus users.
