Saving And Sending Notifications

When composing a Team Broadcast notification in Nexus, you have two key options before finalising your message: Save as Draft and Send. Understanding the difference between these is crucial for effective communication management.

Save as Draft

Purpose: This option allows you to save your partially completed notification without sending it to any users.

Use Cases

    • You are in the process of composing a message but need to gather more information before it's ready to be sent.
    • You want to create a notification in advance to be sent at a later scheduled time (though direct scheduling may be a separate feature).
    • You need to get feedback or approval on the message content before it is broadcast.

Location: Draft notifications are stored on the Notifications page in Nexus and are clearly marked with a "Draft" status.

Editing: You can go back and edit draft notifications at any time before sending them.

Sending Notifications

Purpose: This option immediately broadcasts your composed notification to the selected recipients.

Action: Once you click "Send," the notification is pushed to the users' Peoplesafe apps via push notification services.

Implications:

    • The message is delivered in real-time to the intended audience.
    • Administrators cannot edit or recall a notification once it has been sent. Therefore, it is vital to double-check all content and recipient selections before sending.

Status: Sent notifications are listed on the Notifications page with a "Sent" status, along with key statistics on delivery and engagement.

In Summary

Use Save as Draft when you are not yet ready to send your message or need to refine it further.

Use Send only when you are confident that the content is accurate and the recipients are correctly selected, as this action is immediate and irreversible.
