Preparing Phone Numbers for Import into Nexus
To ensure successful import, phone numbers must adhere to the standard international format (E.164). This format consists of a plus sign (+) followed by the country code and the phone number (e.g., +447xxxxxxxxx for the UK, +3538xxxxxxxxx for Ireland).
An example of the format is can be seen at the top of the import sheet when you download a template from Nexus.
Follow this guide to correctly prepare phone numbers for entry into the import sheet for Nexus.
Adding Phone numbers to the import sheet:
- Login to Nexus.
- Select the icon for + Import.
- Select Download Template.
- Open the file.
- Enter the person's name, portal, and app access requirements.

Enter the phone number in one of the four options: Personal, Work, Home, or Office Number.
- The phone number must have the prefix
+447
(for UK numbers).
- The phone number must have the prefix
- Repeat for any additional contact numbers you have for the person.
- Under the primary number, select the option for the phone number you would like the Peoplesafe ARC to call first in the event of an alarm.
These steps also apply to emergency contact numbers, though you do not need to select a primary number.

Entering Phone Numbers in Bulk
Phone numbers are often provided manually or in bulk in a format different from the one required for import. Don't worry, we have a template attached that uses a formula to correct the format to the one used in Nexus.
How to Use the Template:
- Download the attached template.
- Copy and paste your phone numbers into Column A - Contact (starting from cell A2).
- Copy the newly formatted phone numbers from Column B - Phone Number.
- In your import sheet, right-click, then select "Paste Values" as shown below.
